# Exploring the Impact of Microdosing Magic Mushrooms

Chapter 1: My Journey into Microdosing

A few years back, I embarked on a journey of microdosing magic mushrooms. In various interviews, successful entrepreneurs were extolling the virtues of plant medicine, claiming it enhanced creativity and mental clarity. In a society eager to discover the next miracle solution, microdosing seemed to be a promising trend. I had prepared a special honey infused with magic mushrooms, ideal for a refreshing morning tea.

It's important to note that this is solely my personal experience with psilocybin microdosing, so consider this perspective with caution. Each individual, experience, and mushroom holds its unique qualities.

Day 1: First Dose

I chose my first day to coincide with a workday. During the pandemic, I was only going into the office a few times each week. I can't quite explain why I opted for a public workspace for my initial dose, but I did.

I mixed a teaspoon of my magic honey into some lemon water and consumed it on an empty stomach. Initially, my stomach felt uneasy, but it settled down within an hour. The first few hours of the day brought a noticeable spark; I felt sharper and more creatively inspired. As a content writer, I was able to produce my work at a smoother and more flowing pace than usual. I also felt a deeper connection to my surroundings.

However, this positive sensation began to wane in the afternoon. I found myself feeling somewhat irritated by the people around me. I was surprised by my judgments and frustrations toward the corporate environment I was part of, as well as the anxiety radiating from my colleagues. Oddly enough, I began to mirror their emotions, which revealed important lessons about my own acceptance and desires.

Reflecting on Day 1, I realized that my expectations were influenced by the hype surrounding microdosing, but I was eager to continue.

Day 2: No Dose

Based on my research, I learned that spacing out microdoses every three days can help prevent tolerance. These breaks are essential, as daily dosing is not typically effective or advised.

On Day 2, I still felt the lingering effects from the previous day. My awareness was heightened, and I noticed that I moved through my day more slowly, appreciating the vividness of colors around me.

Day 3: No Dose

This day felt quite ordinary; nothing particularly remarkable happened, but it was still a pleasant day.

Day 4: Second Dose

Working from home on Day 4 turned out to be a blessing, as I inadvertently overdid it. I learned just how fine the line can be between a microdose and a full psychedelic experience.

After my morning routine, I settled in, anticipating the focused creativity I had experienced earlier in the week. Instead, I encountered a jarring surprise. I struggled to concentrate on my computer screen, my mind going blank as I wrestled internally with the pressure of meeting deadlines.

What should have been a minor hiccup spiraled into a moment of panic, leading to a valuable lesson. I wished for greater clarity in dosing, realizing that my reliance on homemade honey could lead to uneven effects. I even texted my sister in embarrassment, confessing my microdosing mishap, and we shared a laugh about it. Eventually, I surrendered to the experience, allowing myself to embrace the moment.

Once I let go, I found joy in my surroundings, feeling free from judgment and fully immersed in the bliss of my home. Eventually, I returned to my work without any issues, feeling calm and at peace with myself and my tasks.

Day 5: No Dose

The following day, I experienced a sense of "afterglow," where life felt more enjoyable. I found it easier to express gratitude and self-love, which persisted throughout the day.

I did notice that I was more open to new information, whether due to the psychedelics or the influence of technology and social media. My mental defenses seemed lowered, and I felt an increased desire to connect with nature, yearning to be outdoors.

Day 6: No Dose

This day felt relatively normal, albeit with heightened feelings of gratitude compared to before I began my microdosing journey.

Day 7: Conclusion of Microdosing

Ultimately, I decided to stop microdosing. I realized I lacked the tools and formulations to accurately measure my doses. More importantly, I found that I preferred larger doses, which offered me more profound experiences than microdosing did. This realization led to some mild frustration, as I often yearned for the deeper connections that come from full psychedelic trips.

While I might consider revisiting microdosing in the future, especially now that I am no longer tied to a traditional job, I recognize the importance of safety and caution with any substance. Regardless of the endorsements from influential figures, psychedelics remain controlled substances that warrant respect and careful handling.
