Unlocking Your Inner Wisdom: Trusting Your Intuition for a Fulfilling Life

Written on

Have you ever heard the phrase, “Just trust your gut”? But what does it truly mean, and how can you put it into practice?

Intuition, often referred to as gut instinct, is the immediate recognition of a truth or understanding. It’s that moment when you just know something without needing to overthink or seek outside opinions.

Your Gut Instinct Is…

This awareness manifests as a sensation within your body that is uniquely yours. It’s a personal guide, signifying that trusting your intuition is an essential aspect of self-trust.

Throughout your life, others may offer their perspectives on what they believe is best for you. It’s important to reflect on these suggestions while also tuning into your own gut feelings, as they will lead you toward what is genuinely beneficial for you.

Fortunately, even if you haven’t been in touch with your intuition before, it remains within you, patiently waiting for you to seek its guidance.

But how can you trust your gut when you might not even have faith in yourself?

Here are three indicators:

  1. At times, your intuition can be so intense that it manifests physically. Some may experience a sense of peace in their heart, while others might feel a sinking sensation in their stomach. These sensations often appear as tightness in those areas, signaling that something feels off.
  2. When your intuition communicates, you’ll find clarity and confidence in its messages. Contrast this with the fearful voice of your ego, which often brings anxiety and uncertainty.
  3. Intuition communicates in various ways, including through dreams. Dreams often blur the lines between past, present, and future, suggesting that journaling your feelings and impressions can be beneficial.

Welcome To The Realm of the Solar Plexus Chakra

Building confidence comes from recognizing patterns in your experiences.

And where is this gut feeling located? It transcends just the digestive system. The solar plexus chakra, or Manipura in Sanskrit, meaning ‘shining gem,’ extends from above the navel to the breastbone. This chakra is your source of personal power, tied to self-esteem, warrior energy, and transformation, enabling you to rise to challenges.

This chakra empowers you to pursue your true path and not succumb to the influence of others. It forms the essence of your personality and ego.

While some believe that to be enlightened, one must eliminate the ego, Buddha suggested a more balanced approach:

“Wear your ego like a loose fitting garment.”

To achieve balance among your emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual aspects, it’s crucial to remain conscious of your ego without letting it dominate your life.

The second chakra seeks pleasure, while the third chakra concerns how you perceive yourself and utilize your personal power. This often connects physical issues with feelings or insights, especially regarding the throat and solar plexus.

Connecting Your Gut and Your Mind

Your gut’s gift is the ability to sense your power, confidence, responsibility, and reliability. The energy of this chakra allows you to turn stagnation into action, facing challenges and progressing in life.

However, the challenge lies in utilizing your personal power in a balanced way.

Candace Pert, in her book Molecules of Emotion: Science Behind Mind-Body Medicine, highlighted that the “mind” is not confined to the head; it’s spread throughout the body via signaling molecules. The neurotransmitters in the brain mirror those in the digestive system, hence the term “gut feeling.”

Current medical research acknowledges that the gut and brain communicate bidirectionally. An August 2021 article in IEEE Pulse stated:

“Dysregulation of the gut-brain axis (due to stress, illness, or poor diet) is linked not only to digestive issues but also increasingly to brain disorders. The gut microbiome has been implicated in conditions like Alzheimer’s, autism, multiple sclerosis, depression, anxiety, and Parkinson’s.”

This means that what we feel in our gut can affect our brain, subsequently influencing our mood and mindset. The vagus nerve facilitates the exchange of signals between the digestive organs and the brain.

Regulating metabolism, the solar plexus chakra distributes energy throughout your body. Commonly associated with the pancreas, its primary role is to energize your life, helping you move forward and realize your intentions.

Thus, the solar plexus is vital for developing and exercising personal power, impacting concerns about social standing and self-image.

This chakra is linked to the sun, heat, and all forms of power, which is why it is represented by the color yellow and associated with the element of Fire.

Are You The Victim of Your Life?

Individuals with a weak solar plexus chakra often perceive themselves as victims. They may walk with heads down, feeling no excitement or direction, tolerating poor treatment, and lacking ambition. They are quick to criticize others while shying away from leadership roles.

Perceptions of criticism and rejection significantly contribute to a blocked third chakra.

More Asta Time

I first encountered Asta, a dedicated single mother, when her mother was diagnosed with cancer. Overwhelmed by her client’s demands, she felt nearly mentally, physically, and financially depleted.

Asta aimed to please her clients but struggled to advocate for herself. She dealt with stress, an unhealthy diet, and digestive issues.

Her feelings of unworthiness stemmed from childhood experiences, leading her to believe she needed to overachieve for love.

Months later, Asta decided to close her office, shifting her focus to delivering projects herself rather than managing staff. She incorporated more “Asta time” into her life, met her partner, and began welcoming love into her world.

To explore the significance of your solar plexus and its messages, I’ve created a short video about Secret #3 on YouTube — are you ready to liberate yourself?

Each chapter of The Seven Secrets can help you uncover the nature of your messages and the emotions causing stress in your body.

Digestive and weight issues often arise from an imbalance in the solar plexus chakra. In addition to weight concerns, poor energy flow through this chakra can lead to:

  • gas
  • nausea
  • ulcers
  • celiac disease
  • liver disease
  • irritable bowel syndrome
  • food allergies
  • stomach ulcers
  • hypoglycemia
  • hypothyroidism
  • diabetes
  • muscle cramps
  • difficulty breathing
  • chronic fatigue
  • immune deficiencies

Those with a blocked or weak third chakra tend to be passive, allowing life to happen without taking action.

Your financial health mirrors the status of your solar plexus chakra. Imbalances can lead to financial difficulties, making it hard to earn or save money.

Conversely, a balanced and active chakra attracts wealth and opportunities, making you a magnet for customers and successful sales.

The message of the third chakra is: “You have the power to choose.”

A strong third chakra signifies the ability to move forward confidently, making conscious choices and taking action. When in harmony, one exudes confidence, feels self-motivated, and possesses a clear sense of purpose.

The 3 Key Lessons Of The Solar Plexus Chakra

The vital lessons from this third energy center include:

  1. Be Courageous and Confident — As you embrace your third chakra, courage and confidence naturally follow. Stand tall, pull back your shoulders, and push out your chest, noticing the subtle shifts in your presence and how others perceive you.

Amy Cuddy's TED Talk demonstrates how adopting powerful body language changes self-perception and others' views.

Recall a moment when you felt truly confident and observe the shifts in your body.

  2. Take Action — Trusting your solar plexus chakra is essential for decision-making. If not, you may feel confused or indifferent. Remember, perfection isn't necessary; just make a choice, however small, to create momentum.

  3. Allow Yourself to SHINE — Each person is unique, and you owe it to yourself and humanity to be true to your authentic self. Often, childhood experiences lead us to feel unseen or silenced. Your solar plexus chakra encourages you to embrace your brilliance and support others in doing the same.

To become the master of your life, you may need to challenge societal messages that deter you from following your intuition.

Asta's journey illustrates how our health is intricately tied to our subconscious memories and experiences. From conception onward, our subconscious records everything in our environment.

Be The Energy You Want To Be

Your subconscious can't distinguish between positive and negative experiences. All information shapes who we are, often based on interpretations that may not be accurate, yet they direct our lives.

This brings to mind a liberating quote from Marcus Aurelius:

“If we judge only those things which are in our power to be good or bad, there remains no reason either for finding fault with God or standing in a hostile attitude to man.”

This energy center is located on Mother Earth at the Uluru and Kata Tjuta rock formations in Australia.
