Your Aspirations Can Materialize When You're Awake

Chapter 1: The Journey to Your Dream
Recently, I traveled to Madeira, Portugal, with my girlfriend. From the summit of a mountain, we took in the breathtaking views of the island. In that moment, I found myself captivated by her enchanting gaze. As I held her close, it dawned on me—my long-held dream of finding a meaningful relationship had come true. I realized that I was living that dream right then and there.
As night fell, we lay together, contemplating our desires: wealth, love, and a satisfying career. It became clear that our dreams are not as unique as we might believe; many of us share similar aspirations.
Dreams often seem unattainable, yet in a fleeting moment, they can manifest into reality. Life transforms into something magical when we align our inner desires with tangible outcomes.
The Struggles of Dreaming
The most challenging aspect of pursuing dreams is the persistent self-doubt that creeps in.
Consider this: when you embark on a creative endeavor, whether it's a podcast or writing, the nagging thought may surface—will I ever garner enough attention or readership? You might even question your sanity for believing in the potential success of your project.
However, to overcome this doubt, ask yourself: If someone else has achieved what I aspire to, what’s stopping me?
Another common pitfall is comparing oneself to those who have already reached their goals. For instance, if a successful YouTuber sells products worth $100,000, they have an established audience ready to purchase. As you scroll through their content, despair may wash over you, especially if you're unsure of where to begin with your own venture. This comparison can lead to feelings of inadequacy, particularly if you haven't even taken the first step.
To combat this mindset, silence the negative inner dialogue. Instead of fixating on the vast amount of work ahead, break your goals into manageable steps that lead you to success.
Your Nightmares of Inconsistency
When your efforts seem unremarkable, hopelessness can seep in, causing you to abandon your dreams.
Months might pass, and you'll find yourself pondering: what if I had persevered during that time? The regret of inconsistency may haunt your thoughts.
Achieving your dreams won't happen overnight—or even within a year. It requires consistent effort over time. I faced my own frustrations in the realm of romance, enduring countless disappointing dates with incompatible partners. Yet, I pressed on. Expecting to find a meaningful relationship within two weeks was unrealistic; it took me five years of dating before discovering a fulfilling connection.
Take writing as an example. Becoming a skilled writer demands significant practice. Top writers on platforms like Medium, such as Tim Denning and Ayodeji Awosika, have invested years honing their craft.
Consistent effort translates into habits that facilitate daily progress. Here’s a practical tip:
The Excel Habit Tracker
Creating an Excel sheet with a calendar can be incredibly motivating. Mark a green box for each day you accomplish something positive for yourself. The simple act of filling in that first box can trigger a rush of serotonin and dopamine, making you feel invincible.
Focus on achieving as many green boxes as possible throughout the month. These boxes serve as reminders of your capabilities, helping you to establish and maintain positive habits.
Chapter 2: The Joy of Achieving Your Dreams
The first video, "The Moody Blues - Your Wildest Dreams," captures the essence of nostalgia and longing, echoing the theme of pursuing one's dreams.
The second video, "Your Wildest Dreams," reminds us that our aspirations can indeed come to fruition, encouraging us to keep striving.
When your aspirations materialize, the resulting feeling is one of invincibility. Beyond simply living your dreams, their realization boosts your confidence and hope—both in life and in yourself.
