# Two Years of Growth: Ten Insights from the Solopreneur Journey
Written on
Chapter 1: A Journey of Reflection
Time flies when you're engaged in what you love! It's hard to believe that two years have passed since I embarked on this exhilarating journey of writing, public speaking, and crafting my unique presence in the digital landscape. While soaking in the beauty of the Canary Islands, I took a moment to ponder my experiences and the lessons I've gathered throughout this adventure—insights that aren't typically found in entrepreneurial guides.

Section 1.1: Embracing the Ups and Downs
- Progress is a Non-Linear Path
The notion of improving by just 1% each day is often misleading—it's a motivational mantra that can misguide you. The reality is that on some days, you may feel a remarkable surge of progress, while on others, you might find yourself stagnating or even regressing. Prepare yourself for this rollercoaster ride, using your successes to bolster confidence and your setbacks to develop resilience. Expect to oscillate between feeling accomplished and questioning your own abilities on the same day.
- Redefine Success Beyond Metrics
Success should not be measured solely by financial figures or arbitrary key performance indicators. In my past corporate life, I was fixated on promotions and bonuses, always chasing the next milestone. Now, I prioritize quality time with my loved ones and cultivate a career aligned with my passions. It’s essential to redefine what success means for you personally.
- Break Free from Labels
Advisors may insist on the importance of having a niche, but fitting into one narrow category can be confining and monotonous. Embracing your multifaceted interests can lead to more fulfilling creative endeavors. My goal is to help others realize their potential, whether that involves writing a book, becoming a speaker, or tackling a triathlon. Don't limit yourself to predefined categories; allow your interests to flourish and evolve.

Subsection 1.1.1: The Importance of Taking Action
- You’ll Never Feel Fully Prepared
I never felt ready to publish my first book, start this newsletter, or step onto a stage. The ideal conditions may never arrive; therefore, it's essential to take action today rather than waiting for the perfect moment.
- Action Trumps Theory
Many believe that acquiring more knowledge or credentials will lead to success. However, what is truly needed is practical experience. Roll up your sleeves and dive into the work.
- Finding Wins Beyond Victories
Having participated in over 100 races, I've realized that every experience is a win, regardless of whether I stood on the podium. It’s about participation, learning, and growth. Discover the victories in every situation and celebrate them.
Section 1.2: Reflecting on Personal Values
- Your True Reflection is in the Mirror
Regardless of your professional achievements or financial success, only you know your true feelings and sacrifices. Ultimately, your own judgment is what matters most.
- Seek Constructive Feedback Over Praise
Our egos can cloud our perception of reality. Embrace honest feedback, and use it as a catalyst for growth.
- The Joy of Passionate Work
When did you last wake up eager for the day ahead? That feeling should be your true measure of success.
- Community is Key
My progress is largely due to the support from my loved ones—my husband, my daughters, my friends, and my community. Each of you plays a vital role in making my journey worthwhile. Thank you for being part of this adventure.
