Navigating Medium's Publishing Limits: A Writer's Dilemma

Chapter 1: An Unexpected Publishing Standstill
Recently, I found myself in a frustrating situation on Medium. After a quieter weekend, my engagement on the platform had noticeably declined.
Yesterday, I decided to dedicate some time to catch up on my reading. Alongside this, I published a few brief articles and wrote numerous replies. However, I soon encountered a perplexing issue: I was unable to publish any more responses.
Despite clicking “Publish,” nothing seemed to happen. My response simply lingered, as if I hadn’t clicked the button at all. I attempted various troubleshooting methods—refreshing the page and even switching browsers—but to no avail.
In search of answers, I scoured Medium to determine if others were experiencing similar problems. That’s when I stumbled upon Amy Sea’s article titled "Help! I’m in Medium Jail." Ironically, I couldn’t even leave a comment there!
What do writers do when faced with such dilemmas? They share their experiences! After drafting my thoughts, I hit the publish button again, only to be greeted by an error message:
This message indicated that I had exceeded the allowed number of stories. It appears that an error notification only appears when attempting to publish a story, rather than a response.
Section 1.1: Understanding the Limits
In total, I had published 20 responses and 2 articles yesterday, leading me to conclude that the overall limit may be 22 pieces. It remains unclear if this threshold applies universally to all users, but I certainly need to exercise more caution in the future when engaging with others’ posts.
Thank you for taking the time to read this!
