Celebrating the Talents of January: Competition Winners Revealed

Chapter 1: Acknowledging the Courage of Participants
In my first experience as a judge for a writing competition, I found the task to be both challenging and subjective. It became clear to me that different judges might arrive at varying conclusions. The year 2021 was particularly tough for many, yet 18 courageous authors stepped forward to share their remarkable stories filled with emotions, vulnerabilities, and inspirations, showcasing their struggles, dramas, and breakthroughs.
I extend my gratitude to the participants: Lena Quinn, Deeianira, Kathy K, Kaori Mitsui, Sahil Patel, Jacquelyn Trevino, Linda Wright, Art Bram, Dave Wettlaufer, Jessica Gale Friesen, Sahil Wassan, Daniela Nair, Gwyn Everett, Jayven Knight, Katie Reierson, Stephanie Stephenson, Sara Hardy, and Rhiannon Hopkins.
However, with a heavy heart, I had to disqualify a few outstanding works. A gentle reminder to all authors: please carefully review the competition guidelines!
Now, without further ado, the moment we've all been waiting for. Drum roll, please!
